This is a great introduction to Malbec, with rich flavors of black berry fruit, mulberry and black cherry along with a bit of licorice and spice. The new vintage was just released and is a perfect match for red meats from the grill. Also featured from Argentina is (87) Colonia Las Liebres, Bonarda Mendoza, 2008. Originally an Italian grape, the Bonarda grape has enjoyed much greater success in the rich soils and generous climate of Argentina.
